Since 1996 I have been offering professional English language courses for companies, private individuals and educational groups.
I am an English native speaker with full teaching qualifications and extensive teaching experience (34 years) in diverse settings, in Australia, Great Britain and Germany. I train and support the development of your English language skills, with the aim of helping you to maintain your English language competence - long term.
My career
I was born near Cambridge in England, but in my late-teens I migrated to Australia. I finished my schooling in Perth, Western Australia and then took a gap year to do different jobs, gain life experience and earn some money. I worked in a supermarket, a meat factory and as a silk-screen printer for ceramics. After this year, I decided to go to university to become a teacher. My major subjects were: Intercultural Studies and Communication, the Education of children with special needs, (particularly children with behavioural problems and highly gifted children) and the Advanced Study of Education. I am qualified to teach children from grade one — seven.
My years as a teacher
I worked as a primary school teacher for 10 years (one year in England) and then after having met my husband, I migrated to Germany in 1995. I began my working life in Germany at a language school in Essen and began my free-lance work as an English language teacher with private groups, at the VHS in Borken and Ahaus and in companies requiring English training. I have now been working as an English language trainer for 24 years and with learners of all levels Al — C2. .
I teach the English language with the most up-to-date teaching and learning strategies!
I love my job! I love meeting and working with people. I love challenging myself and those I train to use new strategies, new materials and to stay up-to-date with the science of best teaching/learning practises . I thoroughly enjoy supporting people in achieving their goals to be the very best users of the English language that they can be and want to be.
I am passionate about music, film, communication, psychology, world cultures and life-long-learning. Of course, I also love spending time with my family, laughing, driving and travelling.
